Why are children fostered?

There are many children from a range of Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds who cannot be cared for by their families, and need to be cared for by the local authority. This could be for just a short time when there is a family crisis or their parents are ill. Some children need a regular short break perhaps because of a disability.

Children need care for a variety of reasons, there may be domestic violence in the home, drug and alcohol abuse, neglect or child abuse.Children may be relinquished at birth or may need to be prepared to move onto an adoptive placement or permanent family. Some children will be removed from their birth families because they are being harmed. These children all have one thing in common, they have a right to be loved, cared for and supported within a warm and loving family home.

There are many children and sibling groups who need to be looked after for a long time, sometimes until they are adults themselves. Would you be able to offer a child a permanent home? If so, we'd like to hear from you.
