What is foster care?

Fostering is when adults take a child to live with them in their own home and provide care for them on behalf of a local authority Children’s Social Care department.

Who Can Foster?

Foster Carers can be single, a couple, married or not, and could be from any nationality, religion or sexual orientation.

They and their family provide the child or children with the care, nurturing, support and guidance that they need to grow and thrive, as well as the practical things like warmth, food and clothing.

We are particularly interested in recruiting carers from different ethnic backgrounds, as there is a shortage of Black and Minority Ethnic foster carers and adopters.
